With much anticipation, we arrived at Island Country Rd. Looking at the long stretch of road, we looked at one another with some uncertainty. The only certainty we have at that moment was that we are unsure about the road to take.
Halfway through, we were discussing to turn left or go straight. It doesn't tally with the map. Ended the discussion by following Chong Ching - to take the gloomier road on our left. A horizontal pole suspended to prevent cars from entering. The algae growing on the road and traces of brown stain showed evidences of negligence. We marched on, bringing light memory of route marches along long quiet neglected road. The march up brought us to Island Country Club(SICC). We were greeted by the luxurious machines of men and it's is not the cricket sound which filled our ears but the va-va-room silent engines of the luxurious machines. Soon we saw some beautiful architecture. Not the classy castles or dilapidated buildings but light coloured bricks decorated architecture. An architecture built to awe men and women alike.
"Are we trepassing into the private property? Have we hollan-ed?"
"At least walking out aint that far.
My mind exhanged thoughts with himself.
Ünable to reach a decision we decided to roam ahead. Soon we saw people, humna beings who don't seemed to be engulfed by SICC. They were heading to one direction and coming towards us from that direction. We knew we haven't hollan-ed.
We marched on and were greeted by an entrance into the forest.
"
Welcome home,"GAIA greeted us.It wasn't a welcome which was not met without obstacles. On the way in it poured. We seeked shelter and looking at the rain it was like GAIA was washing our body and cleansing our soul. Wen Hao took out a radio and in coincidence, the song played was Stef Sun's Rainy Day. A long wait and we marched into the forest. A shot walk and we soon reached the tree top walk.
GAIA has another agenda for releasing the pour. Mists rested on the trees. As we walked through the tree top walk, the mists started to follow us. The sight was awesome, making the SICC architecture looks inferior. Birds were out for food after the rain. The flapping wings of the birds over us looks like them extending their hands to stretch out hugs to welcome us.
A picture speaks a thousands words. Here goes some pictures to describe the GAIA's sanctuary.
