I used to have my jockey cap, now I have my Nike cap.
I used to have to 11b, now I have my pink ic.

The song I used to sing when I enlisted was the opposite. Every rank symbolised a different phase. Rec in BMT, PTE in SISPEC and CPL in HQ 3rd Div. The most fun filled days has to be during BMT. The aim back then was to tahan through the training and enjoy every moment in bunk. Goin from section to section to have fun. Chit-chat sessions with each other, soccer in section 4. Mixing with people from different background was well fun. Constantly up to pranks. Posting to SISPEC was a despressing one. Back to Tekong, and SISPEC. Suffer in silent plus extra confinment. Suffering in silent is a phase most soldiers have to go through but was lucky I didnt kana extra confinment. Only 1 weekend guard duty haha... It was the phase I hated the most. Seeing some of the not so good WOs and the JCs kids in there if surely not as fun as the buddies from BMT. Consider my lucky to get pain injury and post out to HQ 3rd Div? Haha... The diversity in 3 Div cannot be compared to my previous experiences. Some regulars are high-performing, some well i say they take it easy. Some NSFs are garang and some are out right to slack. I suppose Alan, Kian Wai and Jeff have to the 3 closest friends I have made. Mixing with the NSmen is also another interesting phase. Going Wallaby with them and the people from 3 Div was another good experience. It was tough, even the regulars complained but it was fun. My white comb would turn black when I combed my hair a couple of days I went outfield. Haha.. Thinking back, I felt I didnt slack enought in 3rd Div and the result is that I didnt have the chance to know the other NSFs better. That is the past. The future is now. I have walked out of the 'bleak-ness' and into the sunrise.
