Wrong Wine?

Kudos to the promoter at Fairprice Xtra. I dropped by the wine section ytd and he provided quite a lot of knowledgeable recommendations and his knowledge to Australian wines is rather there. While looking for Pinot Noir from Burgundy he came forth with a cup of red wine.

"Young man, try this." He said.
"Thanks."
"Aiyo, its too young. The tannin is so strong and kicking. Too young." I commented.
"The aftertaste is there, have potential to be quite a good wine aft a couple of years."I felt.
It turns out to be a 2006 Shiraz.

He recommended me 2005 Rosemount' Pinot Noir. I was thinking of Bin 333 2005. My guts feeling is that Rosemount is better but it is quite more expensive than Bin. Hence, back the next day after researching, still undecided. In the end took the Rosemount only to change it to Bin when queuing at the cashier.

I dunno if I made the wrong decision. Bin should be quite inferior compared to Roesmount, afterall Bin is imported by the same distributor as Jacob's Creek. However, I feel Bin is more fruity. Wait and see...
