Lunch at Ministry of Food.
"Wa, have ministry of food ha...Thought only Ministry of sound,"
Perhaps, it was the name Ministry of Food which served to attract my attention too. Let's try this. When you heard that there is a restaurant called Ministry of Food, what was your first impression? What food do you think they serve? It was Japanese food. The food is not bad, not the more delicious Jap food I have tried but the presentation of the food was good.
After which, I went to watch Singapore Dreaming with Shi. Not a dramatic movie which keeps you on the edge of the seat. You wouldn't really feel excitment or fear over what will happen on the next scene. It is a movie which captures the daily life of Singapore. The presentation of the feeling is more subtle. The emotions of the actors, the directions of the shots has to be comprehend. It doesn't just come to you. Feel....
The scene which captures me the most is when C.K. is talking to a China girl in a coffee shop. They were conversing on dream and work.
"I feel very lost. I dunno where to go. Life is so mundane. Work and work. I dun even know what I am working for? For condo? For car? Why
must I work towards it?"
She answers " I am also doing a job I dun like but I need to earn money. Cos of that I have to make use of what I have. I
want to earn money to pursue my dream. My dream to be a fashion designer."
Both hate their work but one work forsaken his dream for money, the other work for money too but to pursue her dream.
